Technological advances, the globalization of the economy, and the need to innovate to survive, require organizational leadership to develop a better operating system to better process complexity. It needs to increase its capabilities to make meaning. Agile leaders do this by developing the depth and breadth of their cognitive and emotional capacities.

What is Leadership Agility?

It is a framework through which leaders can assess their current levels of personal and professional development. To develop higher levels of agility, leaders need to work from the inside-out. Enhanced self-awareness and reflection increase the leader’s capabilities to bring new insight into what needs doing.

Think of Leadership Agility as a meta-competency which encompasses the required skills and behaviors associated with a leader’s role. It is a model of being, rather than doing.

At each level of agility, the leader transcends what went before. Following the Leadership Agility compass, leaders work to improve their capacities in four areas: Context-setting, Creativity, Stakeholder, and Self-leadership. Leadership Agility, and the organizations they create for the future, is especially important to organizations which need to innovate.

How our Agile Leadership Program Works

3sixtyglobal works with leaders within the context of a coaching engagement to facilitate development from Expert to Achiever to Catalyst. Together, we determine the current level of agility by analyzing the Changewise Leadership Agility 360 degree feedback assessment. A unique, self-assessment is also possible with the Accelerator, also developed by Changewise.

This is only the start as we roll-out a coaching plan over the space of several months. It is possible to incorporate competency based, 360 degree assessments into the program.

What is important to remember is that we always begin where the client is in that moment in time and guided by the outcome they wish to achieve. This will determine the direction the coaching engagement will take.
