About 3sixtyglobal

An international perspective to leadership.

Background

Marion Estienne is the Principal of 3sixtyglobal. Its origins are in the 30 years that she lived and consulted in Europe. It has contributed to her global mindset and her capability to work with people coming from cultures beyond Europe and organizations which are global.

Marion’s international background adds value to 3sixtyglobal’s consulting and executive coaching because she has a rich and unique perspective. She has done business development and project management in international markets.

She understands the challenges, such as,

  • to work in a geographically dispersed team where time differences and language challenges hamper team building
  • to help leaders adopt a different leadership style to be effective in an expat assignment
  • to learn the importance of respecting other peoples’ values, which are shaped by culture
  • to manage conflict and negotiate in the midst of cultural bi-polarities

Facilitator and Coach

Marion has been working in the field of leadership and team development for over 25 years. As a trainer, executive coach, and facilitator, her passion for leadership development includes the importance of leading ourselves, or self-leadership. Our personal and professional growth and development is quintessential before we can lead others.

Marion’s background is international and she herself has gone through numerous transitions in both her professional and personal lives. Change can be daunting. On the other hand, it offers us the opportunity to renew ourselves and to find satisfaction and fulfillment in every new chapter. It presents us with the opportunity for personal and professional growth.  She believes in the importance and even necessity of life-long learning.  Others have pointed out the importance of a ‘growth mindset’ so that we can renew ourselves.  She follows in the footsteps of many theorists such as Carl Jung and Carl Rogers, who believe our purpose in life is to know ourselves.

She has worked as well for the Center for Creative Leadership in the US as a custom solutions consultant and for such global companies as Roche in Switzerland and Germany, Schindler in Switzerland, Veolia in the UK and Vivendi in France. She began her career as a training and development consultant with Sundridge Park Management Centre in the UK, part of PA Consulting, where she specialized in Leadership and Teams.

Her PhD is from New York University.  She researched her dissertation, thanks to a grant from the German Educational Foundation, on the Chair of Prof. Dr. Max Kaase at the University of Mannheim.

She is a fluent French speaker, still speaks conversational German, and has dual nationality, both US and UK citizenship.  She currently lives in Boston, MA.

“Through a very structured and engaging workshop “The Role of Cultural Differences at Work” Marion helped our organization to deal effectively with trans-Atlantic cultural differences. We were able to learn quickly and practice real life issues and situations. Her tremendous knowledge and experience in this field translated directly into daily problem solving. We expanded the training with a group HBDI assessment test which she accompanied and coached to everybody’s personal benefit. Marion’s teaching and coaching style accommodated each individual’s style and need, making it a great learning experience for all.”
